Idea #331: creating inset that would work with complex shapes

Written by Sandking the 21 Apr 11 at 01:28. Category: Mesh Tools. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
With architectural modelling (and I suspect with all technical stuff) I need to make insets. I mean by that - select loop and create additional loop inside/outside that distances between all edges is the same. Right now when I duplicate and scale a loop it can scale but if the shape is not regular (circle/square/triangle and anything like that) inset/offset looks like in some places the new shape is closer to the old shape than in other places.

This is very important when creating let's say walls from a simple outline.
