Written by Sedrick bowser the 18 Feb 11 at 09:15. Category: Mesh Tools. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: Awaiting moderation
Rationale
When you animate, you have to play around with weight painting and the likes just so your mesh deforms properly. And when you model you have to set vertex groups and get a shrinkwrap modifier so different objects attach to the surface of other objects. The pin system would effectively cut, or reduce the time needed in weight paint because you would pin objects together.

Sounds like shrinkwrap, maybe?

@dna
well i was watching some more tutorials and i realized that blender has a "pin system" thing in place but from the way it was demonstrated it is hardly like the idea i have in mind, and shrinkwrap you have to play around with a little more then some might want. The Pin System (need a new name =D) you would be able to tell specifically which vertexes were linked together, it would effectively cut down or abolish the use of shrinkwraps, cloth simulation (maybe not as much for cloth) and weight painting for these kinds of things.
