Rationale
would be cool if while the extrude tool was active and you have extruded to the point that you are ready to finish the operation, you could, without specifically finishing the extrude operation, press the s key and that would finish the extrude and put you immediately into scale tool… and then ALSO, while You are using the scale tool, if You press e, it finishes the scale operation where it's at, and starts a new extrude… You could go back and forth -- saving keystrokes and time…

i'm sure this could be done with some of the core tools…

i just makes sense… i find myself naturally trying to do this all the time.

it would also make sense for some other operations, like circle-select, to be able to complete/finish the circle-selection process, by just pressing the hot-key for the next operation You intend to perform… now that You've selected the vertices/faces/edges, You KNOW You are going to _______ (insert tool name here)… so just make the circle-select mode so that it scans for relevant/logical hot-keys
